Understanding changes everything, and that’s what makes this work so powerful.
December, 2025
As we near the end of another year, I can’t help but pause and reflect on the many incredible families I’ve met. Families who walked through the door feeling discouraged, unsure, and often out of answers, and left with something much greater than progress. They left with hope.
Hope that their child could learn.
Hope that school could feel easier.
Hope that home could be filled with a little more peace.
This year has reminded me again and again that every child wants to do well. They just need to be shown how their mind works.
Once that happens, once a student begins to truly understand how they learn, everything starts to shift.
The struggle lightens. Confidence returns. The spark comes back.
To every family who trusted us this year, thank you.
You’ve reminded me that progress doesn’t always look like perfect spelling tests or straight A’s. Sometimes it looks like a smile where tears used to be, or a child who says, “I can do this” for the very first time.
If this year has been hard, please know it doesn’t have to stay that way. A new year brings new beginnings, and it’s never too late to help your child discover the tools and confidence that make learning click.
Here’s to brighter days ahead,
and to understanding that leads to lasting change.
With hope and understanding,
Tracy
Email us a picture of one of your clay models that you would like to be shared in an upcoming newsletter.
When Genevieve began her Davis Dyslexia Mastery Program, her goals were simple but meaningful she wanted to improve her reading, learn to tie her shoes, and understand her dyslexia.
Fast forward to today, and she’s accomplished all of that and so much more! She’s discovered that her creativity, imagination, and gift for storytelling are part of what make her mind so unique. From writing her own stories to proudly sharing being able to read new things at home, Genevieve has found confidence and joy in reading.
It’s been amazing to see both Genevieve and her mom learn more about how her mind works and how they can bring that understanding into their homeschooling. So proud of you, Genevieve your creativity and determination shine so bright!
Celebrating Isaiah today as he completes his Davis Mastery for Reading Program.
One of the most meaningful shifts we have seen in Isaiah goes far beyond academics. His confidence and motivation have grown in ways that his parents have noticed at home. After a weekend away from the program, his dad shared that he could see the boost in confidence right away.
Throughout his time with us, Isaiah has been learning how his mind works and discovering his picture thinking style. With that understanding, he has been able to approach new words with more strategy and begin reading with greater success.
A special highlight has been watching his increased initiative at home. He recently asked for Connect 4 and has been playing it with his family which is a beautiful reflection of his growing engagement and self confidence.
We are so proud of his progress and excited to see where this momentum takes him next. đź’›
If you’ve ever felt like your child is swimming upstream, working harder than anyone else, yet still struggling to keep up, you’ll love Fish Don’t Climb Trees by Sue Blyth Hall.
This book is a breath of fresh air for parents of picture-thinking learners. It reminds us that kids aren’t broken, they’re simply wired differently.
Sue Blyth Hall explains why traditional approaches often don’t work for creative, visual learners and shows how a shift in understanding can make all the difference. Her message is simple but powerful: when we teach in a way that fits the child, everything begins to click.
It’s an encouraging read that offers perspective, hope, and a deep sense of relief.
💛 I love sharing this one with families because it captures so beautifully what we see every day here at Minnesota Learning Solutions, that understanding a child’s unique way of learning is the key to lasting change.
