Is your child stuck
on the learning hamster wheel?

It’s not too late. Discover a new path that works with your child’s brain—not against it. One opening left before school starts!

July, 2025

Does learning feel like being stuck on a hamster wheel?

You’re trying. Your child is trying. But no matter what you do—switching programs, trying new curriculums, adding more tutoring—you keep ending up right back where you started: frustrated, confused, and no closer to real progress.

If you’re exhausted from doing more and seeing less, it’s time to try something different.

What if your child could step off that spinning wheel? What if learning could finally make sense?

That’s exactly what happens when you stop chasing symptoms and start understanding what your child’s brain truly needs.

Because here’s the truth:
Not knowing isn’t failure.
It’s the beginning of clarity.

When you and your child understand how they think, and you give them tools that work with their brain, not against it, everything changes.

Learning doesn’t have to be a struggle. It doesn’t have to steal their spark or your peace.

✨ It’s not too late. We have one last opening before the school year begins.

If your child is still spinning in circles, let’s explore a new path forward together.

Warmly,
Tracy

Clay Creation of the Month

Clay creation compliments of Eden!

Email us a picture of one of your clay models that you would like to be shared in an upcoming newsletter.

Congratulations

Big shoutout to Natalie!

When Natalie started her Math Mastery Program, her goals were clear: she wanted to feel more confident, improve her math skills, and ease the anxiety that often crept in during learning.

Throughout her program, we watched Natalie bloom. She learned how to work with her picture-thinking mind instead of against it, and wow, did that make things click. From addition and place value to fractions and even negative numbers, concepts that once felt tricky started to make sense in a whole new way.

Through hands-on tools, clay modeling, and strategies for regulating focus, energy, and emotions, Natalie didn’t just build stronger math skills; she built a stronger connection to herself. She’s walking away not just with math tools, but with a deeper understanding of the way her brilliant mind works.

Her mom said it best: “It’s like we have a different kid.” 💛

Way to go, Natalie, we are SO proud of you!

Help us give a big shoutout to Eden for wrapping up her Davis for Dyslexia Mastery Program!

Eden shared, “I’m getting better at reading. I now know what to do when I get confused when I read, and my new tools are helpful when I get frustrated.”

She also tapped into her creativity by sketching something from our reading passages. It was a fun way to combine picture thinking with comprehension.

Way to go, Eden!

Let’s celebrate Bree for completing her reading program!

She came in with some big goals: spell difficult words, improve handwriting, make reading easier without guessing, clear up confusion between letters like n and h or d and b, and confidently know her left from her right.

Bree met every single one of those goals. She also increased her reading level and replaced her old story about reading with a new one. A story filled with hope and confidence.

So proud of you, Bree!

Why Phonics Alone Isn’t Enough—and What to Do Instead

A recent article by Tatyana Elleseff outlines the limitations of Orton-Gillingham (OG)—a popular phonics-based approach for dyslexia. While OG can be helpful, it often falls short when it comes to the big picture of reading: language comprehension, vocabulary, focus, and confidence.

That’s where the Davis® Method offers something different.

Rather than repeating more drills, Davis starts by addressing the root cause of confusion. It helps learners:

  • Understand how their brain works

  • Regulate attention and energy

  • Create mental pictures for deeper comprehension

  • Build real confidence—not just better decoding

It’s a whole-person approach that supports not just reading, but thinking, understanding, and believing in yourself again.

If your child is still struggling despite phonics instruction, you’re not alone. It might be time to try a method that aligns with how they naturally learn.

We have hope and help for Dyslexia, ADHD, Executive Functioning, and Autism. It’s easy to get started! Just reply to this email or call 763-250-0485.
